REGARDING  the Role
In the role of User Interface Designer, you are a crucial member of the Tech and Training team here at Andela. You’ll be responsible for Interface Design for internal projects as well as several client projects. You will be the go-to man for anything design, pixel perfection, information architecture and product design best practices. You will also be accountable for holding every developer in Andela to high design standards.

Your DEXTERITY
  • You are comfortable using Prototyping tools like Balsamiq, Invision or Photoshop to create Low Fidelity prototypes for web applications.
  • You are comfortable communicating with a client in the US and are able to help flesh out requirements into User Interfaces.
  • You have experience designing High Fidelity prototypes using Photoshop.
  • You’ve worked in various roles with a strong focus on front-end development for web-based applications that are responsive and look great on both desktop and mobile
  • You can translate high-fidelity PSDs into pixel-perfect prototypes using HTML5, CSS3 and AngularJS that work across all modern browsers
  • You have worked with Foundation, Bootstrap and Angular.js on multiple projects
  • You can work on your own most of the time but are open to feedback because you know it helps you continue to improve - so you seek it out regularly

KNOWLEDGE
  • A proven ability to create products that people love to use
  • Worked with both Startups and established companies
  • You’ve had to wear in multiple hats in previous roles

ERRANDS
  • Come up with superb user interface designs for applications (both in-house and for clients)
  • Convert PSD to pixel-perfect, hand-coded HTML/CSS
  • Work closely with developers and client to turn idea into product
  • Convert an existing “desktop” feature into a responsive feature that works across smart phones and tablets
  • Interview customers and incorporate their feedback into your design work
  • Use your eye for detail to do final acceptance testing (cross-browser, UX, etc) on new features once they have been built and are ready for production

• Primary function is to run and actively participate in the Marine vessel performance monitoring (VPM) program.
• To support the Marine Lead on technical matters related to ships, barges and all other marine vessels.
• To provide marine engineering expertise to all project management teams using marine vessels.
• To advise and actively participate, when required, in the Marine pre-hire vessel selection and • To plan, organize, execute and monitor the quarterly VPM
• Administrate the vessel inspection and Marine database and generate KPI’s for contractor performance
• Participate in Pre-hire inspections and administrate reports within the database
• Investigation of vessel deficiencies reported by vessel leads, advise on rectifying actions to be taken by contractors.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The objective of the State Team Leader position is to provide overall leadership and management of the MSH Pro-ACT project in the State and related states/areas in a manner that strengthens partnerships with the state government and other partners, and leads to sustainable HIV/AIDS prevention and control efforts.

MANAGEMENT REQUESTED :
Spearheading coordination, implementation and reporting of the MSH Pro-ACT program in the State and related states.
Ensure optimal resource management in the project.
Member of the Project Management Team that is responsible for overall project performance.

PARTICULAR REQUEST
Lead the development of an integrated Pro-ACT project plan for the State in collaboration with the Project Director, Deputy Director, Associate Directors, Advisors and State Specialists.
Operationalize Pro-ACT project plan in the State ensuring efficient coordination of resources to maximize integration and synergy of program areas.

Support the state HMIS Officer to establish a functional state M&E data system with periodic analyses and review to inform program management.
Establish a system for timely relevant technical support to all implementing health facilities.
Take responsibility for management of the state Pro-ACT project budget and all other resources under the direction of Director, Country Office Management Unit (COMU).
Advocate and represent MSH Pro-ACT project at the highest level in the state on matters of HIV/AIDS and TB
Liaise and network with relevant Pro-ACT partners and collaborators in the state to improve MSH’s visibility, coordination of activities and promotion of shared advocacy agenda.
Supervise staff and manage staff performance and development.
Provides clear documentation of programmatic achievements as well as required data and keeps MSH senior management informed of state activities on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

REQUIREMENTS
Graduate degree in public health, public administration, management or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years senior level work experience in health program management in developing countries, or equivalent.

Proven track record in managing international projects or in senior management of a large and complex project overseas.
Demonstrated leadership and capacity to oversee USAID-funded (sub) projects.
Understanding of USAID and field Missions; USG audiences, trends and requirements.

The LMS Prevention Organizational Systems AIDS Care and Treatment Project (Pro-ACT) is a USAID-funded project managed by Management Sciences for Health (MSH).
