Stellarvera Development Company Limited is a real estate/ property development company with head office in Ibadan, Oyo state. In view of planned projects the company seeks a dynamic and innovative Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

JOB DESCRIPTION: QUANTITY SURVEYOR
LOCATION: Ibadan

RESPONSIBILITIES
To manage costs on projects.
To undertake costs analysis for project development.
To assist in establishing the project’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
To prepare early stage budgets and detailed cost plans.
To perform risk and value management and cost control.

To prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and contractor selection.
To identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks.
To prepare and analyze costing for tenders.
To establish and operate cost and financial control systems.
To allocate work to subcontractors, in conjunction with the Project manager.
To negotiate to ensure budgets are not exceeded.
To provide advice on contractual claims.
To analyze outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
To value completed work and arrange payments.
To develop knowledge relevant to contract conditions and their applications.
To maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
Understanding and implementing health and safety regulations.

KNOWLEDGE AREAS
Areas requiring more specialised knowledge include:
To offer advice on property taxation.
To provide post-occupancy advice, facilities management services and life cycle
costing advice.
To enable our company to initiate construction projects.
To advise on the maintenance costs of specific buildings.
To accept liabilities specifically attributable to your lack of professionalism.

ACADEMIC/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A first degree in Quantity Survey is important and a second degree in the construction industry related field is an advantage.
Any certification or designation requirements? Membership of the professional body also an advantage

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Accounting skills
Communications and interpersonal skills
3-7 years cognate experience

WORKING CONDITIONS
The office is primarily based in Ibadan and there is travelling involved. The work environment is conducive and salary is negotiable and attractive.
