Job Description

Computer Operator Job Purpose: Provides data by operating a computer.

Determines sequence of operations by studying production schedule.
Prepares equipment for operations by accessing software in computer loading paper into printers and plotters preparing for output.
Starts operations by entering commands.
Maintains operations by monitoring error and stoppage messages observing peripheral equipment entering commands to correct errors and stoppages reloading paper making adjustments in process notifying supervisor for additional resources.
Documents problems and actions by completing production logs.
Resolves user problems by answering questions and requests.
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and tests following manufacturers instructions troubleshooting malfunctions calling for repairs maintaining equipment inventories evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level anticipating needed supplies placing and expediting orders for supplies verifying receipt of supplies.
Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has give the news  that sales of jamb  form for the 2015/2016 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination (UTME) must start  on  15th  September, Monday 2014 and closed on 15th January 2015, Thursday

 candidates should take notice of the following;


a.     The 2015/2016 UTME will be Computer Based Test (CBT) mode
only.

b.     The Registration Fee is Four thousand, Five Hundred Naira
(N4500)

c.      The Registration cards can be obtained from the following banks
and NIPOST: Zenith Bank Plc, Skye Bank Plc, Union Bank Plc and First Bank

d.     At the point of Purchase the following documents shall be made available to the candidates

a)     Syllabus for the examination in a softcopy
b)     Guidelines on admission (Brochure) in soft copy detailing list 
tertiary institutions and available programmes of study (All these are at no extra cost)
 e.    Only Computer Based Centres are authorized to register candidates for the 2015/2016 UTME
f.      The venue of the examination will be at the candidates chosen town during registration.
 g.    Candidates who damage or lose their scratch cards before registration will have to purchase another one
h.     Multiple registrations are not allowed. Candidates who register more than once will have their entire result cancelled

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maximizes resources – equipment and staff - by introducing proper co-ordination skills to ensure that maximum plant and equipment reliability and norms are achieved.
Conduct, Co-ordinate and pro-actively involves with yearly controls on Mobile Harbor Cranes, Rubber Gantry Cranes Spreaders and other equipment.

Involves its self on all aspects of repairs and maintenance, refurbishments, projects and new equipment to ensure that quality and deadlines are met and in line with budget. Perform other related functions required from time to time such as assistance with major emergency work;
Encourages, supports and facilitates teamwork and innovative thinking to find best solutions to improve efficiencies and improve availability of Mobile Harbor Cranes, Rubber Gantry Cranes Spreaders and other equipment.
Liaises with maintenance planners and operations for the booking out of the Mobile Harbor Cranes, Rubber Gantry Cranes Spreaders and other equipment for examining, repairing, servicing and refurbishments.
Ensures that work done complies with safety standards and is of a high quality.
Provide technical spe...t support to mechanics and electricians during equipment breakdowns thereby minimizing the impact on the operations.
Follow up and carry out repairs to defects as per Examiners defect list. To ensure safe working and minimize breakdowns to machinery and equipment.

REQUISITE

Who we are looking for
High school diploma and additional vocational / technical education Trade Test/Certificate /Diploma as Mechanic, Electrical engineering.
Additional training in both electrical and mechanical fields is preferred.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Nationality: Applicant must be of Nigerian origin.
  2. Age: Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 22 years for non-tradesmen/women, 17 and 24 years for tradesmen/women by 31 December 2014
    Those who will be older than 22 and 24 years for non-tradesmen and tradesmen respectively by 31st December 2014 need not apply
  3. Marital Status: All applicants must be single.
  4. Height: Minimum height is 1.68 meters or 5.5ft for males and 1.65m or 5.4ft for females.
  5. Medical Fitness: All applicants must be medically fit and meet the Nigerian Air Force medical and employment standards.
  6. ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
  7. Non-Tradesmen/women:  Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits including Mathematics and English Language at not more than 2 sittings obtained not later than 4 years to this exercise. In addition, applicants are also required to possess their school’s testimonials.
  8. Tradesmen/women:  Applicants must satisfy the requirements stated for Non-Trade above. In addition, applicants applying as tradesmen/tradeswomen must possess ND (with minimum of Lower Credit) or other relevant trade qualification from government-approved institutions. Note that applicants with HND or First Degrees/Post-Graduate Certificates, University Diplomas and Grade II Teacher's certificates will not be considered for recruitment as airmen/airwomen into the Nigerian Air Force.
  9. Attestation Forms: Applicant's attestation form must be signed by a military officer from the same state as the applicant and not below the rank of Squadron Leader or equivalent in the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Navy, and Police Officer of the rank of Assistant CP and above. Local Governments Chairmen/Secretaries, magistrates and principals of government Secondary Schools from applicants' state of origin can also sign the attestation forms. In addition, applicants are to bring with them a letter of attestation of good character from any of the officers above to the Zonal Recruitment Centers and final selection interview.
