NEWSPAPER EDITOR, ILORIN, KWARA STATE, NORTH CENTRAL NIGERIA

SKILLS
Minimum of Higher Diploma Degree or Bachelor’s degree in any Discipline.
Professional certificate from the Institute of Journalism is a must
Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience/Requirement
Minimum of 5 years cognate experience, preferred age limit is 35 years
The right candidate must have worked in similar position for a minimum of 2years
Responsibilities
Reports to the Publisher/ Editor in Chief on daily operations
Formulates editorial policy and directs operation of the newspaper
Confers with editorial policy committee and heads of production, advertising, and circulation departments to develop editorial and operating procedures and negotiate decisions affecting publication.
Writes leading or policy editorials or notifies editorial department head of position to be taken on specific public issues.
Reviews financial reports and takes appropriate action with respect to costs and revenues.
Represents publication at professional and community functions.
The editor is responsible for all of the copy that runs in his/her section. Spelling and grammar errors, inconsistencies, incorrect facts or fabricated reporting are ultimately his/her responsibility.
Successful candidate will be based in Ilorin, Kwara State, and may travel to other office locations e.g. Lagos, Jos, Abuja etc. www.nigerianquickjobs.blogspot.com
